The Angel Agenda.
A Culturally Responsive Curriculum for Creative Empowerment
Empowering the collective consciousness of young Black and Brown youth through cultural education, emotional intelligence, and transformational mentorship.
Encouraging the kids to believe in the possibilities life has to offer.
The Angel Agenda was founded in 2018 in response to a pressing need: to restore the power of self-worth, identity, and resilience within Black and Brown communities.
Rooted in the ethnographic realities of lived experience, the initiative emerged from the cultural soil of Broward County, Florida, and has grown into a global ecosystem for youth empowerment and education.
Through culturally responsive curriculum, wellness-based mentorship, and creative development, The Angel Agenda supports the emotional and intellectual growth of young people navigating the threshold between adolescence and adulthood — a liminal space where identity, memory, trauma, and possibility converge.
We recognize that the journey toward self-actualization is often obstructed by inherited trauma, environmental inequity, and the systemic erasure of cultural agency.
Our programs exist to transform those barriers into pathways for healing, leadership, and creation.
Our
Misson
We understand that trauma is not solely personal — it is historical, intergenerational, and systemic. The effects of racialized surveillance, economic displacement, and social neglect are embedded in the developmental timelines of young people of color.
Our mission is to interrupt these cycles not through charity, but through radical care, cultural literacy, and creative education.
We do not ask youth to conform to systems that were not designed with them in mind.
Instead, we ask:
“What if healing was the curriculum?
What if leadership was measured in empathy, cultural intelligence, and the courage to be seen?”
Core Values
Genuineness – We lead with authenticity and transparency, creating spaces where truth and individuality are honored.
Ambition – We pursue growth through purpose, vision, and disciplined creativity — redefining what success looks like for our communities.
Understanding – We practice empathy informed by context, culture, and active listening.
Passion – We approach our work with focus and intention, allowing conviction to drive sustainable change.
Kindness – We center compassion as an ethical practice — treating care as a strategy for empowerment.
Willpower – We cultivate resilience by transforming obstacles into opportunities for evolution.
Individuality – We affirm identity as a source of wisdom and innovation, not deviation.
Young Leadership Program
A Curriculum of Conscious Mentorship
The Young Leadership Program (YLP) is our signature after-school mentorship initiative for middle and high school students. Drawing on a rites-of-passage framework and informed by anthropological principles, YLP serves as both sanctuary and laboratory — a structured space where youth explore their evolving identities while developing leadership through mentorship and creative collaboration.
Through intentional dialogue, group rituals, artistic expression, and practical skills training, students engage in a curriculum emphasizing:Through intentional dialogue, group rituals, creative expression, and skills training, students in the YLP are guided through a curriculum that emphasizes:
Emotional literacy and wellness
Cultural consciousness and identity development
Purpose-driven goal setting
Mentorship modeling and peer guidance
Career exploration in the arts, academia, and entrepreneurship
Students not only fulfill their school-based volunteer requirements — while emerging as leaders capable of guiding younger cohorts through our main program.
Why YLP Works:
Young people are often more receptive to peers than to authority figures.
The Angel Agenda honors this dynamic by establishing layered mentorship structures where knowledge flows laterally and vertically — not hierarchically.
This creates an environment of trust, relatability, and sustainable leadership development that reflects real-world community structures.
